Pioneer Day

Everywhere you turn there are signs up for July 24th. At the grocery store, I get emailed about not having aerobics classes at the gym.
Then I think to myself...

What is going on with July 24th??

Not being from Utah. I think, what other holiday is in July besides the 4th? I honestly did not know about Pioneer Day. It is a big holiday here. I think as a kid we maybe had a breakfast at the church or somethig, but you know it is so close to the 4th. Who knew?

We had a great 2 day celebration. The night before we were outside watching our neighbors fire works display. The kids all had about 10 sparklers each.

As for Pioneer Day. The day I never even knew existed. We spent all day in the sun. We have friends in our ward that created this massive Slip N Slide. It was such a blast!

I took Kallie and Asher down the first time. Brooklyn was to afraid to even try. If only Jim had the day off to help me and be in on the FUN. Bummer.

The end of the day when it got dark. More fireworks and sparklers. Then after that we finished with a few games of Kick the Can. The kids loved it. It was basically Hide N Seek in the dark. What a fun pioneer day!

Fun In The Sun!

Summer time is the best!

I love the break. I love going on family vacations. I love having Kallie home from school so we can play everyday. I love not having to do my hair everyday or getting dressed for that matter. I love to get tan. I can go on and on about summer...

The wheather is perfect here, as well as the activites. Summer is just the best time of the year. I love it and can't wait for it every year.

Although it has been a super busy summer, literally every minute I have something going down. My sister Becky is a party animal. I love living so close to her and being apart of her fun filled activities.

One of them being at Isaacs counsin's house. Her pool and house was amazing. So beautiful and so fun! Plus I locked blake up in a play pin which meant only 2 kids to watch instead of 3. (I know I am slowly learning the tricks)

California, Here we come!

We spent the 4th of July in Oceanside, aka Camp Pendleton at the beach. Is there any other place you would want to be? I don't think so. Jeff and Kendyl let us crash at their cute condo. Which helped us save some cash.(Thanks again guys) First night, Kendyl made us a really yummy dinner. Here are the cousins together eating.



Then on Thursday, we wake up early to drive down to Sea World. Mind you Sgt Maj. Munden is giving us all wake up calls so we are not late. (Love you dad) We make it to Sea World at about 8:30am. Our family friend Bob McLure works at Sea World and just gives us the ultimate hook up. First he gave us free tickets to get in. Then spent 5 hours with us showing us behind the scenes tour. (You rock Uncle Bob)

So first up in the park, dolphins. Holy Cow! They are such an amazing animal. We had the head personal trainer of the dolphins showing us their tricks and letting us touch them, which is not suppose to be part of the tour. :) (thanks again Bob)

Then we get some Flamingo time in. There was a lady who showed us the Flamingo's close up. Probably the closest I will ever be to one. She was a really nice lady and taught us a lot. She also had a flamingo tatoo on her ankle. :)
FUN FACT: Did you know that Flamingo's get their pink color from eating such things as shrimp. Which has a high source of alpha and beta-caretene. Pretty Cool!





We hit up pretty much everything in the park. Then we start going to all the shows. Here are some of Shamu. Which by the way was such a great show. We went to one in the day and one at night. 2 different shows! Let's just say Shamu is so cool!

By the end of the day we make it to the Atlantis roller coaster. I love roller coasters. Can't get enough. Ever since I was little. But this roller coaster was so fun!! It did not let me down. :) I had Missy's hand up with me on the drops. As you can see the other one was down. Ha ha!



Next 2 Days at the Beach!

Charlie and Alisa (my brother and his wife) got a camp site at Del Mar Beach on the base. The base threw this crazy beach bash for the 4th. They had give aways, a DJ/stage, bounce houses, and tons of retailer booths. As you can imagine it was crazy packed. But we had a blast.

Their was a nasty marine layer the whole day till about sunset. So both days at the beach just look foggy. Unfortunately, due to this fog, we weren't able to see the fire works but we heard them. They sounded amazing! :)

This was such a fun get away. I had so much fun with all of the family we saw. Let's do this again soon. Hopefully, you all make it up here for Christmas. Smile!!
